After seeing the tallest office building in North America. the Willis (Sears) Tower, next you’ll see a few of the world’s very first skyscrapers. In fact, you can even go inside of one. 'The Rookery' features an amazing lobby that was designed by legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright. It was seen in the movie "The Untouchables".
Up next, it's a trip through "Chicago's Front Yard", historic Grant Park with it’s impressive Buckingham Fountain and 200 acres of open space. You'll also see neighboring Millennium Park, featuring Cloudgate (The Bean), Crown Fountain and The Pritzker Pavillion (designed by Frank Gehry). Museum Campus is up next with three museums, Soldier Field and unparalleled city views (we’ll let you get out here for a while, so you can take the best possible skyline photos).
After that, it’s up Michigan Avenue, first to see the popular Art Institute of Chicago, then a stop along the Chicago River. Here, you can see iconic structures like The Wrigley Building, Tribune Tower, Marina City and more. After that, we head up “The Magnificent Mile” shopping district to the historic Water Tower & John Hancock Building.
Next it's on to the affluent Gold Coast neighborhood (including the original Playboy Mansion) and trendy Rush Street (stomping grounds for Al Capone, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and many others).
Then it’s up to 1,600 acre Lincoln Park, home of the famous Lincoln Park Zoo, Conservatory, colorful gardens and the neighborhood where 1929’s St. Valentine’s Day Massacre (Al Capone vs. Bugs Moran) went down.
A memorable drive back into town along stunning Lake Shore Drive rounds out this award winning tour.
At the conclusion of your Chicago bus tour, we’ll take you to the Magnificent Mile. There, you will board a Shoreline Sightseeing, Chicago River Architecture Tour Boat!
